My Birthday

As I previously mentioned I am behind in my posting so here is the post for my birthday which was last month.
This year my parents came out to help celebrate my birthday and that allowed Charlie and I to go on vacation as a couple while they watched the kids. So we decided to try out a cruise since we have such close access. We went with another couple and had a fabulous time.
The day started with a birthday breakfast made by my mom and the girls

That afternoon we started the fun. After finding our "dorm room" we went to dinner and met up with the group that would be our nightly dinner associates. After dinner we went to the show and watched some karaoke. Charlie sang a song and dedicated it to me for my birthday and then we danced the night away.

The next day we slept in and then spent the day on the cruise lines private island. It was one of my favorite days because we love to relax and you can't beat relaxing in a hammock.

That evening was the formal night so we dressed up and went to the dinner and shows and did some dancing.

The next day we stopped at Nassau Bahamas. We took our lives into our hands when we took a taxi ride to the beach.

After he dropped us off he escorted us to the beach which made me feel like we were doing something shady but he was mainly directing us to another group trying to make money by getting us chairs but we declined and made a long journey down the beach to some rocks so we could snorkel.

The last day we were on board the ship so we hung out on the pool deck and went in the hot tub since it was a little too windy to enjoy swimming. We enjoyed our first cruise and will probably try and do it again some day but I do prefer land vacations. We do get to do several overnight getaways which we love but it had been 5 years since we have been able to do a long vacation together and we loved it, so a big thanks to my parents!

When we got back we spent the weekend with my parents before they had to leave. They claimed the kids did well and I know the kids had fun with their grandparents.
