Daddy Daughter Date

Aubrey had her first daddy daughter date last week. We did her hair and nails to get her ready for her big date. They went to Steak and Shake for dinner and then to the movies. They had the whole theatre to themselves and enjoyed their first date.
They had so much fun Aubrey was worn out by the end.

My Brynley

I guess when your baby can pull up into a sitting position in her bouncy seat she is too old to be in it anymore.

The Girls Room

We started the girls room before the baby was born 5 months ago and painted it but it has taken us until now to get the bunk beds up and the wall hangings we also started before the baby was born. I still have to work on organizing the closet and putting up more wall hangings but here is what we have so far.
Here is Aubrey her first night in a big girl bed and not in a crib.

The Before

The After

The wall hangings I envisioned and that Charlie made
I will probably post again once I have it complete but we are happy with what we have so far and look forward to moving on to decorate another room.

The Fair

We went to the fair in February. We saw a few shows and some animals. My favorite part was the petting zoo because you could feed goats, camels and cows. I learned that the fair is way over priced with food and rides so the girls picked one ride to go on but it was a fun experience.

Valentine's Day

This is our Valentine's day post. I'm not a great journal writer so I wanted to make sure and remember this for myself because it turned out to be a pretty fun day.
A couple of years ago Charlie and I swore of Valentine's day as a romantic holiday after a few years of bad luck and interesting stories that I won't go into here so we now celebrate it as a family and keep it simple. In the morning I decided to go and get a few things for the day and ended up locking my keys in the car which goes along with my bad luck so I thought for sure the day would end in disaster but it didn't. Charlie came home and cooked a simple but delicious steak dinner for us.

Then we had a family home evening lesson on love and a few activities. The first one was spin the bottle. First we had a spinner with 6 numbers and each number corresponded with an action such as give a hug, give a kiss, say something nice etc. and then we would spin the bottle and see who would receive the action. The girls really loved that game.
We then sat in a circle and everyone massaged the person's foot on their left and then we switched and did the right. After that we decorated cookies and then called it a night. It was a fun family Valentine's evening.
