I like it Jesus

Last night we were decorating for Christmas and Hailey was setting up the Nativity. Aubrey saw the baby Jesus and grabbed it and started carrying it around the house saying "Jesus baby". I was finishing up dinner preparations when I looked down and saw Aubrey with a blanket trying to cuddle and cover up the baby Jesus like she does her baby dolls.
Hailey wasn't happy that Aubrey kept taking the baby Jesus out of the Nativity scene so I found another set for her to give to Aubrey but instead Aubrey started carrying around both of them. When I called them over for dinner she came running up and set both babies down next to her plate and then in her loud voice said "I like it Jesus, I like it Jesus" while she folded her arms for prayers. It was the cutest thing. When she likes something she says "I like it_____(fill in the blank with whatever she likes) It is funny to hear.

Aubrey's 2nd Birthday

Aubrey turned 2 on Nov. 24. We went to the local zoo for a little bit to play in the play area and then we had dinner and lots of birthday games including the pinata I mentioned Hailey and I were making. It was a simple yet really fun birthday!

Thanksgiving crafts

So I'm behind but here are the girls dressed up for halloween
For some reason I've been feeling a little crafty and we have done a few thanksgiving crafts this month. Here is a hat Hailey and I made and some turkey cookies. I don't really like the whole process of making sugar cookies but Hailey got the idea off TV and was really excited about it. Although it was messy as usual we had fun. Aubrey just liked playing with the dough and flour and then all she ate were the candy corns and left the cookie. We are also working on a turkey pinata which will probably appear in Aubrey's birthday post next week.

My Birthday Weekend

So I had another birthday and am sad to announce I am no longer in my twenties, but as most thirty year olds discover it turns out it isn't as old as it once seemed. Charlie surprised me with a hotel stay by disney. You know how when you check in and you ask for a king size bed and they never have any? Well, when we checked in the lady asked us if we wanted a king size bed and an upgrade for free, it was a nice surprise. It also came with a big screen TV and we were prepared and brought our DVD player so we could watch a movie in bed. The next day we went to Magic Kingdom together. I have been a bunch of times and I always love it but this time we actually did some rides that I usually skip over so it was fun to change it up a bit. The best part of all was enjoying time together without any kid distractions (Thanks to Kalo, mom and dad for your help) On Sunday we got together with Charlie's family for dinner and cake, it was a fabulous weekend!

New Fashion Trend

Only 22 months and already has a strong opinion about what she wants to wear. She will often bring 2 shirts for me to dress her in and I can usually convince her to go back and find some bottoms but today she was insistent on wearing the 2 shirts she brought and even put her legs up for me to put the shirt on so I complied since I wasn't in the mood for a fight. Did I mention she is very strong willed and independent...must be that red hair

8 years

We celebrated our 8th year wedding anniversary last weekend. We got the whole day to ourselves which is wonderful in and of itself because Charlie's sister was sweet enough to babysit for us. We started the day off by going to the temple and doing sealings afterwards we went to lunch/dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. We had planned on another place for dinner but that pretty much filled us up for the rest of the day. Then we went to downtown Disney and walked around visiting the shops and listening to street performers.

Our official anniversary was on Monday the 24th. Charlie went to work and then came home at lunch time and took me out for lunch. For dinner we had a candle lit dinner with the girls and then a family home evening about eternal families and temples and then watched a little picture video of our 8 years together. For dessert we had dipped strawberries. We enjoyed spending the weekend together and look forward to another happy year together.

Hailey made these sweet little gifts for us. She glued peppermint candies to the paper and Aubrey enjoyed sneaking them off the rest of the week.

Daddy Daughter Date

Charlie and Hailey went on their first official Daddy Daughter date last Friday. Hailey planned the date and they went to dinner at Chili's and then to a baseball game. They had a good time together and stayed out late.
